Branson Comes to Central Ohio

If the economy prevents you from taking in a show in Branson, MO this summer, don’t worry. Branson is coming here. On Friday Sep 11th, three of Downtown Branson, MO’s most popular shows will be performed at the Arlington Entertainment Complex in Upper Arlington. At 5:30pm, Branson’s “Mark Twain” will take the stage with “An Evening with Mark Twain” starring Dave Ehlert as America’s Favorite Storyteller. Hilarious Comedy, Timeless Humor and Nostalgic Images are the features of this 90 min. show. Ehlert recreates the humor, wit and wisdom of Twain with his tongue in cheek, wink of an eye portrayal of this literary icon. The audience will also be treated to a display of Norman Rockwell’s art as it is projected onto a screen during the performance. Rockwell, of course produced the illustrations in both the Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn sagas. Great entertainment for the whole family as Ehlert shows why Twain’s humor is still relevant in this modern day. As Twain once said, “I don’t exaggerate, I just remember big!” Then, at 7:30pm the sounds of Country Music will fill the room with a tribute to Hank Williams Sr. and Patsy Cline in “Hank and Patsy, Together!”. This show features your favorite Hank Williams and Patsy Cline songs performed by two very talented Tribute Artists, Branson’s Randy Steffen and local talent Stephanie Knepp. And of course, this show contains a generous helping of Branson’s Hilarious Down Home Comedy. At 9:30pm the evening concludes with the finale, “Elvis and the Superstars” again starring Dave Ehlert. This show starts off with impersonations of Neil Diamond, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart, Dean Martin, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Roy Orbison and Tom Jones. Finally, “The King” takes the stage with a high energy performance including classic Elvis hits. Ehlert, the first performer to be inducted into the Worldwide Elvis Performer’s Hall of Fame has been featured on “Oprah” as well as CNN, CBS and Fox television.
